The XML Highway Server is the engine of the service. Designed using open
Internet standards, it offers both processing and database facilities. The
XML Highway Server is responsible for validation, transformation and delivery
of business documents. Members may have documents delivered to them or they
may connect with the XML Highway Server to collect them.
The XML Highway Administration Client is a 'website' where upon successful
logon, members may administer functionality of the service, such as setting
up trading partner relationships, defining document types and file formats
to send documents in, and determine document archival and retrieval.
The XML Highway Integration Client software facilitates the movement of
documents from your back-office application to the XML Highway Server using
the Internet, from where they may be collected or delivered to your trading
partner(s). A Windows™ toolset, this is mounted onto a desktop PC connected
with your back-office application.
To eliminate trading partner resistance to electronic document exchange,
the XML Highway Administration Client is a freely available distributable
software CD for your trading partners.
